Wednesday, May 7th
Performing Arts & Events Center Meeting
6:30 pm • Monroe Family YMCA

The Monroe Arts Council invites the Sky Valley community to come together to talk about bringing a performing arts, events, and conference center to the Monroe area.

Bring your ideas on what you would like to see in terms of such a multi-purpose center. Many community organizations are in need of a space in which to practice and hold events. The Sky Valley community supports a concert band with over 50 members; there are performing arts (theater) groups; we are home to a number of art organizations; and our students would benefit from having access to such a venue. To maintain the center on a solid financial footing, it may be desirable to create a space that is an attractive venue for conventions and a wide spectrum of events and activities, such as indoor sporting events and teams like the Explosion basketball.

A Performing Arts, Events and Conference Center would inject revenue into the local community at multiple levels, and help make Monroe a travel destination. This initial planning session will give Sky Valley residents a chance to voice their desires and concerns, and to start the process of defining what is possible in our community, and how to get there.
