Evergreen Youth Jazz
Evergreen Youth Jazz is a non-profit group dedicated to the musical enrichment of young people. This program began in 1995 as a summer music group offered by Take a Bough Productions. It is geared toward young musicians as an introduction to jazz music. With hard work and lots of fun the group becomes a performing jazz band in a very short time. The band performs at local events throughout the summer with the grand finale at the Evergreen State Fair on Labor Day!
Monroe Community Concert Band
The Monroe Concert Band is a wholly volunteer organization that is dedicated to bringing music BACK to the community. The group consists of about 50 players who come to play for the fun of it all, and maintains members with experience ranging from High School level to semi-professionals.
Our goal at the MCB is to provide a place where anyone with at least a High School skill level, can come and play and escape for awhile!
The band was first formed in 2004 and originally enlisted only 12 members. With a $125 donation from the Monroe Arts Council (MAC) the band was able to purchase a few pieces of music in order to get them started!
With just 12 members, their love of playing and dedication to music and having fun has grown to over 50 members in 2011.
We hope that if you are a musician interested in playing that you’ll come join us!
