Theater Rental

Looking for a great venue for your next event? The WPAC is the place. It’s large, affordable, and loaded with character. Built in 1939, the Wagner Performing Arts Center is a historic landmark on Main Street in Monroe, just blocks from downtown shopping and dining.

Seating Capacity

632 seats plus a wheelchair platform accommodating up to three.

Lighting

The WPAC has a variety of lighting options available, and we are working continually to upgrade our equipment.

Storage for Props

Our storage space is limited. However if your production runs multiple days and you need to store props and equipment, we will try to accommodate you if possible. An additional charge may apply if utilization of the space is more than is typically anticipated.

Dance Performances

The stage floor is appropriate for most dance performances. A marley floor is available if needed.

Green Room

While there is no bona fide green room, we can rent ample additional space in the building for a very reasonable fee. Most commonly used is the gymnasium adjacent to the theater. There are also classrooms available, and there is one small dressing room located on stage left.

Accessibility

Entrance - The wheelchair ramp entrance is at the east side of the theater. From the parking lot, please go past the main entrance to find the ramp just past it on your left.

Seating - Just off the main hallway there is a platform which accommodates up to three wheelchairs.

IMPORTANT RESTROOM INFO - As of February 2026, we are undergoing a construction project to renovate the theater’s patron restrooms. In the meantime, there are ADA restrooms in the adjoining school wing; however, one has to leave the building and go back in through another entrance. We have volunteers available during events to escort patrons when needed. Please see the ADA access map.
