Theater Features
Sound System
We have a state of the art sound system, with five (5) available microphones. Two of these are wireless. Rental costs are shown in the tables above. Deposits may be required for sound system rentals. All deposits will be returned upon check-in of the equipment.
Piano
There is an upright piano available on site. If you require tuning outside of our regular tuning schedule, an additional fee may be required .
Lighting
The WPAC has a variety of lighting options available, and we are working continually to upgrade our equipment. If you require specialty lighting for your production, you may bring in your own equipment; however you will need to work with our facilities coordinator in order to make sure we are not taxing the current grid for any given performance.
Storage for Props
Our storage space is limited. However if your production runs multiple days and you need to store props and equipment, we will try to accommodate you if possible. An additional charge may apply if utilization of the space is more than is typically anticipated.
Dance Performances
The stage floor is appropriate for most dance performances. However we do recommend that your dance group coordinator take a look at the facility prior to booking.
Green Rooms
While there is no “official” green room, the school districts allows us to rent ample additional space in the building when necessary. There is also one small dressing room located on stage left.
Balcony Use by Stage Hands
Our sound and lighting systems are operated from the theater balcony. Access to the balcony is via a ladder in the main theater. It may not be used by renting organizations without a signed liability waiver for those who will be accessing and utilizing that space.
Acoustics
The WPAC acoustics are good, and we have improved our sound system in 2023. If you are bringing in your own sound equipment, we recommend that you test thoroughly and make adjustments prior to your performance.
Heating
In cold weather we will arrange for the school district to turn on the heat at least 4 hours prior to a scheduled event. If there is a minimum temperature required, please let us know.
Accessibility
There is an accessible entrance ramp located on the east side of the building.
There is a designated accessible platform seating area in the back center house where wheelchairs may be parked.
IMPORTANT: Restroom Accessibility
The original restrooms at the front of the house are undergoing renovations and are currently not in use. However, while renovations are in progress, patrons may use other restrooms located up the stairs to the east side of the stage and just across the hall. These restrooms are accessible, but patrons should be aware that wheelchair access requires exiting the building and re-entering through the gymnasium at the back of the building. A WPAC staff member will always be available to help our wheelchair patrons; please ask for assistance.
The M.A.C. is committed to the completion of this restroom renovation project, which will ensure that the venue is completely up to code and that the facilities are convenient and comfortable for all of our patrons. We do not have an estimated completion date at this time.
Fire Exits
Patrons may exit through both front and side entrances located in our lobby area and through the marked exit signs in the auditorium.
Children
Wagner Performing Arts Centers shows are family friendly unless otherwise noted on our website events calendar. Children are not allowed to attend any show intended for adult audiences only.
Strollers are not permitted. Parents are asked to remove restless or noisy children from the theater.
